Everything you need to get shopping in about five minutes. No account, no setup wizard — just open the app and go.
Do these once and you're set.
Make sure you're signed in to iCloud on your iPhone — that's your login. There's no account to create and nothing to configure. Your lists sync and back up automatically.
Tap the + to add a list — one per store or trip works well. Tip: long-press a list to Set as Default List, so the Quick Add button always drops items there.
Type in the Quick Add bar at the bottom of a list. Aisle autocompletes from what your household buys, so re-adding regulars is one tap. Keep typing to add several in a row.
At the store, items are grouped by aisle so you move front-to-back without backtracking. Cross things off as you go — tap, swipe, or long-press (your choice in Settings), then clear the crossed-off items when you're done.
In Settings, invite your household by email through Family Sharing. Once they accept, everyone sees and edits the same lists in real time — add milk at home and it appears on their phone at the store.
A few things worth knowing once you're comfortable with the basics.
Long-press any list and choose Set as Default List. The Quick Add button then always adds to that list — perfect for your everyday grocery run.
Long-press an item to Move to another list or Copy to another list — handy for splitting a run across two stores.
Open an item and set Assigned To so its crystal clear 'who added what' to the list. Give each family member their own color and avatar in your roster.
Attach a store to a list, then set an item's aisle number for that store. Aisle remembers it per store and sorts your list to match the path you actually walk.
Items sort into categories like produce or dairy automatically. Change an item's Category in its editor, and add, rename, or reorder categories in Settings — or turn grouping off entirely.
Add a photo to an item as a shopping aid — snap the exact brand or label so there's no guessing at the shelf. The photo clears automatically once you cross the item off.
Turn on dietary tracking in Settings and pick the diet(s) you follow — Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegetarian, or Vegan. Aisle then badges each item so you can tell at a glance whether it fits. Badges are indicators only, so always double-check labels.
Add to your lists hands-free without opening the app — just say "Hey Siri, add an item to Aisle." Allow Aisle to work with Siri the first time you're prompted.
