Open Settings inside Aisle and use the sharing option to invite someone by their email. They'll get an invitation to join your household. Once they accept, you both see and edit the same lists in real time. One person is the household owner; everyone else joins as a member.
No. Aisle has no accounts, passwords, or sign-up. It uses your device's iCloud account for identity and syncing, so there's nothing extra to set up — just make sure you're signed in to iCloud on your iPhone.
First, confirm every device is signed in to iCloud and has an internet connection — Aisle works offline but needs a connection to sync. If someone you shared with can't see changes, make sure they've accepted the share invitation. If sync still seems stuck on one specific device after a lot of sharing changes, deleting and reinstalling Aisle on that device forces a clean re-sync from iCloud without affecting anyone else's data. If it continues, email me the details below.
Aisle sorts items into common store categories (produce, dairy, frozen, and so on) using a built-in keyword guess. You can edit any item's category, rename or reorder your aisles, or set it to always ask before categorizing. You can also turn aisle grouping off entirely if you prefer a plain list.
Yes. Attach a store to a list and assign aisle numbers for that store. Aisle then sorts the list to follow the path you walk, so you shop front-to-back without backtracking.
By default you tap an item to cross it off, but you can switch to swipe or long-press in Settings. You can also choose where crossed-off items go and clear all of them at once when you're done shopping.
You can build a roster of family members, each with a color and avatar, and assign a single person to any item so it's clear who's grabbing what. A member can be just a label, or linked to someone you actually share the household with.
Yes. Aisle has no servers of its own and doesn't collect or track anything. Your lists live in your private iCloud and sync directly to the people you share with through Apple's CloudKit. See the privacy policy for the full details.
The household owner can remove members from the sharing screen in Settings; this simply removes access and never deletes anyone's data. If you're a member, you can leave a shared household from the same area.
Aisle includes a privacy and data-deletion section in Settings. Because your data lives in your own iCloud rather than on any server, deleting it there — and removing the app — removes your copy. Shared households: removing your access doesn't delete the copies held by others you shared with.
Aisle comes with a database of 150+ common foods pre-tagged for popular diets — Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegetarian, and Vegan — built using USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, and the Celiac Disease Foundation. Turn dietary tracking on in Settings and choose the diet(s) you follow, and Aisle shows a dietary badge on each item in your list so you can tell at a glance whether it fits. You can also add your own foods and dietary tags.
Important: when dietary information isn't available for an item, that item shows as "non‑compliant" by default. You can override this at any time in the item's settings to reflect what you know about the product.
The dietary badges are indicators only. Always double‑check product labels, and consult a dietitian or physician regarding your dietary needs and restrictions.
Yes. With Siri integration you can add to your lists hands-free, without opening the app — just say "Hey Siri, add an item to Aisle." Siri hands the item to Aisle and it lands on your list. The first time you use it, allow Aisle to work with Siri when prompted.
Aisle is an iPhone app, available now on the App Store.
Aisle is a one-time $1.99 purchase on the App Store, with no ads and no data selling. If that ever changes, it will be clearly communicated in the app.
